SIERRA Centro de Arte lanza la convocatoria FEMALE para la construcción de una ruta de intervenciones en el espacio natural de la finca Los Veneros, donde se encuentra situado SIERRA, concebida para ser realizada por cinco mujeres artistas o colectivos artísticos integrados en su mayoría por mujeres.
Desde su inauguración, en julio de 2010, uno de los objetivos fundamentales de SIERRA ha sido promover la construcción de espacios de visibilidad, acción y pensamiento alrededor de las propuestas artísticas contemporáneas y su relación con la naturaleza y el entorno de población de la sierra onubense en el que se encuentra ubicado, tanto a niveles culturales, sociales, pedagógicos o antropológicos.
Estos espacios han ido configurándose a través de la realización de múltiples actividades como laboratorios especializados en prácticas intermedias y naturaleza, talleres de arte y naturaleza para adultos y niños, jornadas y congresos, producción de piezas sonoras y audiovisuales, acciones en el espacio natural…e intervenciones en el entorno de la finca Los Veneros, que cuenta con más de 70 hectáreas de terreno libre para la realización de las mismas.
Con la construcción de la ruta FEMALE (cuya realización está prevista de septiembre 2011 a marzo 2012) el centro SIERRA incide de forma especial en lo femenino en una transversalidad de carácter centrífugo y centrípeto, de ida y vuelta, que parte de la involucración en el tejido social y humano de las mujeres –y del concepto de femineidad en el ámbito rural- de las poblaciones cercanas para una puesta en valor a través del arte y de las visiones de otras mujeres, en este caso artistas. Un bucle que volvería a ellas, a las mujeres de la sierra, en un proceso de integración de las mismas en las diferentes propuestas.
La convocatoria está abierta a mujeres artistas de cualquier edad, nacionalidad u origen.
El proceso de las intervenciones seguirá el siguiente planteamiento:
· Una vez finalizado el plazo de presentación de propuestas y seleccionados los cinco proyectos, se establecerá un calendario de trabajo, primero online de estudio y adecuación al terreno y después presencial a través de la estancia de las artistas durante una semana en SIERRA.
· En este periodo se formalizará el proceso de la intervención, según su naturaleza (por ejemplo, si el proyecto incide en la colaboración y el contacto directo con personas, asociaciones…o bien si trata de un concepto más amplio como el de la femineidad rural…se organizaría y facilitaría el acceso según las circunstancias, así como la búsqueda de materiales idóneos para la intervención)
· La intervención tendrá que tener un reflejo físico en la ruta natural pero puede conllevar la realización de otro tipo de actividades como talleres, piezas sonoras, vídeos, documentales…
· Una de las condiciones, de hecho, es que la artista con la ayuda en su caso de la organización, obtenga documentación de todo el proceso para que esta pueda transformarse en diferentes piezas artísticas.
· La intervención puede concluirse o al menos iniciarse en la semana de estancia de la artista en SIERRA (previo estudio de la misma), o concluirse después según sus instrucciones.
La organización concede unos honorarios de 500 € por artista (impuestos deducidos) y tiene destinados otros 500 € para la elaboración de la intervención en concepto de materiales. Aparte la organización correrá con los gastos de alojamiento y manutención de las artistas durante una semana en el Hotel Los Veneros, situado en las mismas instalaciones de SIERRA centro de arte.
En ningún caso la organización correrá con los gastos de transporte y traslados de las artistas desde su punto de origen (nacional o internacional), al centro SIERRA.
La organización se compromete, aparte del pago de los honorarios, estancias y manutención, a facilitar en la medida de lo posible, todas las acciones y recursos necesarios para la consecución del trabajo.
El espacio destinado a la ruta FEMALE es un sendero que asciende a la ladera de la sierra que circunda la finca Los Veneros, habilitado para su tránsito y visita, de alto interés medioambiental, con un recorrido aproximado de unos 3000 metros. Discurre entre el final de la comarca del Andévalo y las primeras estribaciones serranas, alcanzando una altitud de metros y con unas vistas muy amplias. La vegetación predominante es de jarales y brezos, destacando el endemismo “erica andevalensis”. Otras plantas medicinales están también bien representadas dentro de su biodiversidad. Para la realización de las intervenciones se debe tener en cuenta, aparte de la implicación en el tejido femenino de la zona, la sostenibilidad del proyecto y la realización del mismo con materiales autóctonos y/o que sean respetuosos y no alteren el medio ambiente ni el ecosistema de la sierra.
Las propuestas deben incluir:
- Proyecto inicial de la misma detallando la magnitud y el alcance de su elaboración previa.
- La relación directa con el ámbito femenino y las mujeres del entorno
- Trayectoria de la artista, pudiendo ser documentada con la aportación del material que se considere oportuno y siendo valorada la relación de su trabajo en el ámbito de género o la intervención en espacios naturales (sin que esto sea concluyente en principio).
- Disponibilidad en fechas de la artista para la puesta en marcha del proyecto.
Una vez realizada la selección por el jurado, se iniciará el proceso de trabajo con la organización para una adecuación óptima del proyecto al espacio y al entorno, facilitando esta toda la información al respecto.

SIERRA Art Center launches the call for the construction of a route of interventions in natural space, particularly on the farm Los Veneros where it is located SIERRA, designed to be performed by five women artists and artistic groups composed mostly by women.

These spaces have been shaped through multiple activities such as laboratories specialized in middle and practical nature, and nature art workshops for adults and children, workshops and conferences, production of audio and audiovisual pieces, actions in space and natural ... interventions in the environment of the farm the springs, with over 70 acres of free land for their realization.

With the construction of Route FEMALE (whose realization is expected in September 2011 to March 2012), the SIERRA center plays a crucial part especially in a mainstreaming women in centrifugal and centripetal character, return, that part of the involvement in the social fabric and human women, and the concept of femininity in the countryside, nearby towns for enhancement through art and visions of other women artists here. The call is open to women artists of any age, nationality or origin.

· Once the deadline for proposals and selected five projects, establish a work schedule, the first online study and adaptation to the ground and then through the face of the artists stay for a week in SIERRA.
· In this period we will formalize the intervention process, according to its nature (for example, if the project affects collaboration and contact with persons, associations ... or if is a broader concept of femininity as the rural ... would organize and facilitate access to the circumstances and the search for suitable materials for the intervention)
· The intervention must have a physical reflection in the natural route but may involve carrying out other activities such as workshops, sound pieces, videos, documentaries ...
· One of the conditions, in fact, is the artist with the help opf the organization where appropriate, obtain documentation of the entire process so that it can transform into different art pieces.
· Intervention may be concluded or at least begin the week of the artist in SIERRA residence (after studying it), or terminated after according to its instructions.
The organization awarded a fee of 500 € by artist (after taxes) and has allocated another 500 € for the development and performance materials. Apart from the organization will bear the costs of accommodation and meals for the artists during a week in the Hotel Los Veneros located in the same facilities SIERRA arts center.
In any case the organization will bear the cost of transport and transfer of the artists from their point of origin (domestic or international), SIERRA art center.
The organization is committed, other than payment of fees, accommodation and subsistence, to facilitate as far as possible, all actions and resources needed to achieve the work.
The space for the FEMALE path is a trail amounting to the side of the mountains surrounding the farm Los Veneros enabled transit and visit high environmental interest, with an approximate distance of 3000 meters. It runs between the end of the region of Andévalo and mountain foothills, reaching an altitude of 750 meters and with a very broad view. The predominant vegetation of brambles and briars, highlighting the endemic "erica andevalensis." Other medicinal plants are also well represented within their biodiversity. For the realization of the interventions should take into mind that in addition of involvement in female grup in the area, the sustainability of the project and its realization using local materials and / or who are respectful and do not alter the environment or mountains ecosystem.
- Trajectory of the artist, can be documented with the contribution of material that is appropriate and being valued relationship of their work in the field of gender perspective or natural intervention (without this being conclusive in principle).
Once the jury selection will begin the process of working with the organization for an optimal fit of the project space and environment, the arts center providing all the information.
